Kő kövön

Taras Tomenko az Európai Filmakadémia tagja. Rendező, forgatókönyvíró, 1976. február 6-án született Kijevben, Ukrajnában. A Karpenko-Kary Kijevi Állami Színház-, Film- és Televíziós Művészeti Egyetem film- és televíziós művészeti tanszékén és a Tarasz Sevcsenko Kijevi Állami Egyetem filológiai tanszékén tanult. A 2001-es Berlinalén a Tyr (Shooting Gallery) című filmjéért elnyerte a Panorama-díjat.

Michelle vagyok

Művész és filmkészítő. Az ukrajnai Oles Honchar Egyetemen MA fokozatot szerzett angol filológiából és művészettörténetből, a poznani Képzőművészeti Egyetemen pedig új médiaművészeti tanulmányokat tanult. Művészi gyakorlatában leginkább a társadalmi kapcsolatok, emberi jogok és a digitális térben alakuló identitás érdekli. Számos kiállításon és szakmai gyakorlaton vett részt Ukrajnában, Lengyelországban, Litvániában, Németországban és az USA-ban. 2019 után másodszor is elnyerte a Lengyel Kulturális Minisztérium „Gaude Polonia” ösztöndíját, aminek keretében jelenleg is a háború elől menekülő ukrán nőkről forgat dokumentumfilmet. I Am Michelle első rendezése.

Olha Zhurba dokumentum- és játékfilmeket, reklámfilmeket és zenei videókat rendez és vág. A kijevi I. Állami Karpenko-Karij Színház- és Filmművészeti Egyetemen szerzett diplomát 2010-ben dokumentumfilm-rendező szakon.

Mariupolis

Mantas Kvedaravičius (1976–2022) was a Lithuanian-born filmmaker with a degree in social anthropology from Cambridge University. His first documentary film, Barzakh, was selected in numerous festivals and won several awards, including the Amnesty International Prize and the Ecumenical Jury Prize at the Berlinale in 2011. His two, subsequent films, Mariupolis (2016) and Parthenon (2019), were selected for the Berlinale and the Venice International Critics' Week, respectively. Mantas Kvedaravičius was killed by Russian Forces in late March 2022, in Mariupol, while documenting Russia's invasion of Ukrainian territory.

Mountains and Heaven in Between

Dmytro Hreshko was born in a small village in Transcarpathia, in western Ukraine. He has been studying and shooting documentaries since 2019. He completed summer courses in directing at "Skalka 2019", a film school in Uzhgorod, and graduated from the Kharkiv Academy of Visual Arts’ (AVA) documentary film course, under the curators Lyubov Durakova and Alisa Kovalenko. The following year he attended the Indie Lab 2020 School of Documentary Film in Kyiv, curated by Dmytro Tyazhlov and Ella Shtyka. He is active as an organizer for the Transcarpathian Film Commission concerning the development of cinematography in Transcarpathia, and as a co-founder and program coordinator of the Carpathian Mountain International Film Festival (CMIFF) in Uzhgorod.

Fragile Memory

Igor Ivanko was born in 1992, in Odesa, Ukraine. In 2016 he graduated from the Karpenko-Karyi Kyiv National University of Theatre, Cinema and Television with a Master’s of Cinematography Degree. Since 2014, Igor has collaborated with the BABYLON’13 documentary filmmakers collective as a cinematographer, filming Maidan protests and the Russo-Ukrainian war. Fragile Memory is his debut feature documentary film.

Infinity According to Florian

Oleksiy Radynski (Ukraine, 1984) is a filmmaker and writer based in Kyiv. After studying film theory, he took part in several film education experiments, including the Home Workspace Program (Askhal Alwan, Beirut), and Labor in a Single Shot, by Harun Farocki and Antje Ehmann. His award-winning short films have been screened at Oberhausen International Short Film Festival, Docudays IFF, DOK Leipzig, Kurzfilmtage Winterthur, the Institute of Contemporary Arts (London), e-flux (New York), S A V V Y Contemporary (Berlin), and International Studio & Curatorial Program (New York). Infinity According to Florian is his first feature-length film.

I Am Michelle

Olena Siyatovska is an artist and emerging filmmaker. She received a MA in English Philology and Art History from the National University of Oles Honchar, in Ukraine, and studied New Media Arts at the University of Fine Arts, Poznan, Poland. Her artistic practice focuses mainly on social relations, human rights, and identity in the digital dimension. She has participated in exhibitions and residencies in Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania, Germany, and the US. Siyatovska has received the Polish Ministry of Culture of Poland, “Gaude Polonia” scholarship twice. She is currently using this to create a documentary about Ukrainian women who have fled the war. I Am Michelle is her directing debut.

Outside

Olha Zhurba directs and edits documentary and fiction films, commercials, and music videos. She graduated from the I. Karpenko-Karogo National University of Theatre, Film and Television in Kiev in 2010, with a degree from the Department of Cinema Documentary Directing.
