Dalok a Nép Szigetéről

Bíró Danijar a londoni UCL-en szerzett BA társadalomtudományok diplomát, majd videós újságíróként kezdte pályafutását a Partizánnál. Az orosz-ukrán háborút személyes történeteken keresztül feldolgozó portré-sorozata szakmai díjban részesült. Idén készült el a Dalok a Nép Szigetéről című diplomafilmje a Goldsmiths MA dokumentumfilm képzésen.

Songs from People's Island

Danijar Bíró earned his BA in Social Sciences from UCL in London, and then began his career as a video journalist at Partizán in Budapest. His portrait series, Faces of War which covers the Russian-Ukrainian war through personal stories, received the Hégető Honorka Award. In 2024, he completed his graduation film, Songs from People’s Island as part of the MA Documentary Film program at Goldsmiths, London.

Celluloid Underground

Ehsan Khoshbakht iráni születésű Londonban élő rendező, kurátor és szerző. Celluloid Underground

Ehsan Khoshbakht is an Iranian filmmaker, curator and author, based in London. His debut feature Filmfarsi (2019), about the lost Iranian cinema of the Shah’s era, was released in the US by Gunpowder/Criterion, and screened at over 50 film festivals and cinematheques around the world. He has also made several archive documentaries for BBC Persian, including Duke Ellington in Isfahan (2021), which was selected for Telluride. Khoshbakht is co-director of Il Cinema Ritrovato in Bologna, the world’s premier festival for film history and restoration.

Black Box Diaries

Shiori Ito is a journalist, writer, and documentary filmmaker. Her primary focus is gender-based human rights issues.​ In 2020, Time magazine listed her as one of the 100 most influential people in the world. Her debut feature-length documentary film, Black Box Diaries was officially selected for the 2024 Sundance Film Festival and will be released worldwide in late 2024. ​​In 2017, she wrote the book Black Box, based upon her own experience of rape. The book reveals the sexism in Japan’s society and institutions. She won the Free Press Association of Japan Award for Best Journalism in 2018 and the One Young World Journalist of the Year 2022.

The Story of Looking

Mark Cousins (1965) is a director, writer and film critic. He is known for his film The Story of Film: An Odyssey (2011), a 15-hour long documentary which was broadcast on television and also screened at the Toronto Film Festival; and Women Make Film: A New Road Movie Through Cinema (2018), a 14-hour long documentary about film history, focusing on the films made by women. He was a programmer at the Edinburgh Film Festival in 1996-97, hosted the Moviedrom and Scene by Scene TV shows at BBC2. In 2009, he and Tilda Swinton created a traveling film festival in Scotland.

The Reason I Jump

Jerry Rothwell is a filmmaker whose previous work includes the award-winning feature documentaries: How To Change The World, about the founders of Greenpeace; Sour Grapes (co-directed with Reuben Atlas) a film about a wine counterfeiter; School In The Cloud, about radical educationalist, Sugata Mitra; Town of Runners, about two girls in an Ethiopian village who aspire to be athletes; Donor Unknown, about a sperm donor and his many offspring; Heavy Load, about a group of people with learning disabilities who form a punk band, and Deep Water (co-directed with Louise Osmond), about Donald Crowhurst’s ill-fated voyage in the 1968 round the world yacht race. His work has won numerous accolades including two Grierson Awards, an Audience Award and Special Jury Prize at Sundance Film Festival, an RTS Award, the IDA Pare Lorentz Award and a BAFTA nomination.
