Olha Zhurba dokumentum- és játékfilmeket, reklámfilmeket és zenei videókat rendez és vág. A kijevi I. Állami Karpenko-Karij Színház- és Filmművészeti Egyetemen szerzett diplomát 2010-ben dokumentumfilm-rendező szakon.

Egy újságíró meggyilkolása

Matt Sarnecki újságíró, producer és filmrendező a Szervezett bűnözés és korrupciójelentési projektnél. A Columbia Egyetemen politikatudományból és történelemből szerzett BA fokozatot. Két évig önkéntesként dolgozott a Békehadtestben, Romániában, majd Fulbright tanári ösztöndíjasként Prágában tanult az Előadóművészeti Akadémia Film és TV Iskolájában. 2011-ben San Franciscóba költözött, ahol a Kalifornia Egyetemen, a Berkeley-n MA fokozatot szerzett újságírásból. 2013 óta újra Romániában él, Bukarestben. Pavel Sheremet meggyilkolásáról szóló Killing Pavel című dokumentumfilmje 2017-ben az Oknyomozó újságíró és szerkesztő kitüntetést, 2018-ban pedig a dokumentarista oknyomozó újságírásért odaítélt olasz DIG díjat vehette át.

The Territory

Alex Pritz is a director and cinematographer whose work focuses on humanity’s relationship with the natural world. His process relies on a participatory filmmaking model, in which everyone is encouraged to pick up a camera. The Territory is his first feature film.

Outside

Olha Zhurba directs and edits documentary and fiction films, commercials, and music videos. She graduated from the I. Karpenko-Karogo National University of Theatre, Film and Television in Kiev in 2010, with a degree from the Department of Cinema Documentary Directing.

The Killing of a Journalist

Matt Sarnecki is a journalist, producer, and film director at the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project. He earned a BA in political science and history at Columbia University. He spent two years as a Peace Corps volunteer in Romania before moving to Prague, Czech Republic, where he held a Fulbright Teaching Assistantship at the Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts. In 2011 he moved to San Francisco, and earned a master’s degree in journalism at the University of California, Berkeley. Since 2013 he has lived in Bucharest, Romania. His documentary Killing Pavel, about the murder of investigative journalist Pavel Sheremet, won the Investigative Reporters and Editors Medal in 2017, and the DIG Award (Italy) in 2018.

A damaszkuszi Színművészeti Főiskolán tanult táncot, majd Franciaországban és Dániában számos kortárs film- és táncművészeti képzésen, illetve műhelymunkán vett részt. Miután 2007-ben diplomát szerzett az Arab Intézetben, a Golán-fennsíkról Csönd címmel 35 perces dokumentumfilmet készített. Rami első egész estés filmje, az Egy szír tragédia komédiása 2019-ben az IDFA-n került bemutatásra.

Rami Farah is a Syrian performer and filmmaker born in Damascus in 1980. He first studied dance in Damascus at the High Institute for Dramatic Arts and attended many training courses and workshops in contemporary film and dance in France and Denmark. After graduating from the Arab Institute in 2007, Rami made a 35-minute documentary about the Golan Heights entitled Silence. Rami's first feature-length film, A Comedian in a Syrian Tragedy premiered at IDFA in 2019.
