The Silence of Others

Almudena Carracedo was born in Madrid. She directed and produced her debut feature film, the Emmy-winning documentary Made in L.A., in the US. She is a Guggenheim Fellow, a Creative Capital Fellow, a Sundance Time Warner Documentary Fellow, a United States Artists Fellow, and the recipient of an honorary doctorate from Illinois Wesleyan University. In 2012 Almudena returned to Spain to work on The Silence of Others.

Robert Bahar was born in Philadelphia, and lives and works between Madrid, Spain and Brooklyn, New York. He won an Emmy as producer/writer of the documentary, Made in L.A., and spearheaded the three-year impact campaign that brought the film to audiences around the world. Robert is a Creative Capital Fellow, a Sundance Documentary Fellow, and holds an MFA from the University of Southern California’s School of Cinema-Television.

La flor de la vida

Claudia Abend and Adriana Loeff are documentary filmmakers living in Montevideo, Uruguay. Abend’s debut was in 2001 with El Comienzo del Fin, a personal short film about the end of the dictatorship in Uruguay. In 2008, Abend and Loeff premiered their first feature-length collaboration, Hit, which tells the hidden stories behind some of the most famous songs in their country. Currently, Abend and Loeff are developing a documentary series and a new feature-length film.

Film for Carlos

Renato Borrayo Serrano was born in 1992, in Guatemala, but has lived in Russia since 2012. He graduated from the VGIK in 2017 as a film director specialized in documentary films, and attended Marina Razbezhkina and Mikhail Ugarov School of Documentary Film and Theatre. His Film for Carlos was awarded Honorary Mention by the International Jury at the 2017 DOK Leipzig.

El Manguito

Laurentia Genske is documentary filmmaker and cinematographer. She attended the Academy of Media Arts, Cologne, 2010–2016, and was an exchange student at the Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión (EICTV), Cuba, in 2012–2013. She received the German Documentary Film Award and several other awards for her documentary, Am Kölnberg (co-directed with Robin Humboldt), in 2015.

Andrés Lübbert 22 díjat nyert el dokumentumfilmjeivel, melyek 20 ország több mint 160 nemzetközi film fesztiválján szerepeltek. Lübbert saját interkulturális közegéről, migrációról, identitásról és emberi jogokról mesél történeteket. Több filmet is készített a chilei utóemlékezet kapcsán. Az “El color del camaleon” a legutolsó filmje.

Így szép az élet

Az Oscar-díjas dokumentumfilm rendező, Jens Schanze, 1971-ben született Born városában. Egy év amerikai tartózkodás után, 1990-ben erdészeti diploma megszerzésébe kezdett a Ludwig Maximilian müncheni egyetem keretében majd 1992-ben televíziós munkát vállalt és rendező asszisztensként kezdett el dolgozni. Mielőtt megkezdte tanulmányait 1995-ben az University of Television and Film-nél Münich szívében, az egy éves bolíviai tartózkodása alatt a Föld élővilágának a megőrzéséért küzdő szervezet, a Conservation International-nak készített projekteket. A Judit Malek-Mahdavi-val 2002-ben közösen alapított filmgyártó cég, a Mascha Film által számtalan díjnyertes dokumentumfilmet készített, mint a Winterkinder (2005) vagy a Plug & Pray (2010). 2014-től egyetemi tanárként film és video design kurzusokat tart.

Aislado

Jo Müller Essenben született és nőtt fel, 2011-ben végzett a Gymnasium Essen-Werden-ben.  Korai tapasztalatait a vizuális médiában szakmai gyakorlatokon keresztül gyűjtötte össze elsőként egy fotográfiai stúdióban, majd egy tv-produkciós cégnél. 2012-ben a GIZ-nek dolgozott, mint szociális munkával foglalkozó önkéntes, amelynek részeként a Dominikai Köztársaságban élhetett és dolgozhatott. Visszatérve Németországba elkezdte a filmművészeti tanulmányait az IFS Internationale Filmchule Köln-ön. Itt szerzett diplomat 2016-ban Visual Arts szakterületen. Első rövidfilmjei a Sockenwäsche (2014, 5 ') és az Update Required (2016, 3') animációs filmek, amelyek megnyitották a kaput előtte forgatókönyvíróként és rendezőként. Első teljes játékidős dokumentumfilmjét, az Aislado-t (82 ') 2016-ban készíti el, egy három hónapig tartó filmezés gyümölcseként a Dominikai Köztársaságban. 2016 szeptemberétől a Bildundtonfabrik-ban dolgozik Köln városában.

Zoltan M. Geller 1991-ben született a szerbiai Sombor településén, de a gyönyörű tájakban bővelkedő dél-németországi régiókban nevelkedett. Gimnáziumi érettségije után egy hat hónapos önkéntes munkát vállalt el mozgássérült gyerekek számára készült iskolában. A Münich székhelyű filmprodukciós cégnél eltöltött kamera asszisztensi gyakornoki munkája után elvállalt egy gyakornoki programot a filmszerkesztési osztályon, ahol felfedezte elköteleződését a filmszerkesztés felé. 2012-ben úgy döntött, hogy jelentkezik az Editing Picture And Sound tanulmányi programra, 2016-ban megszerezte alapszakos diplomáját.  2016 óta, mint szabadúszó filmszerkesztő dolgozik és a német filmszerkesztők szövetségének a tagja, a BFS-nek.

Aislado

Jo Müller was born and raised in Essen, and graduated from Gymnasium Essen-Werden in 2011. His first experiences in visual media were gathered through his internships with a photography studio and television production company. In 2012 he did a voluntary year of social work, living and working in the Dominican Republic, and upon his return to Germany, took up studies in cinematography at ifs international filmschule köln. Müller graduated with a Bachelor of Arts specialized in Visual Arts. His first short films, Sockenwäsche (2014, 5’) and Update Required (2016, 3’), animated films, allowed him to try out the roles of writer and director. His first feature-length film, Aislado (82’), completed in 2016, is a documentary film he spent three months filming in the Dominican Republic. He has worked at bildundtonfabrik (btf) in Cologne since September 2016.

Zoltan M. Geller was born 1991 in Sombor (Serbia), but was raised in the beautiful provinces of Southern Germany. After his high school graduation he voluntarily served in the civilian service for six months at a school for disabled children. After an internship as an assistant cameraman at a Munich-based production company he started an internship in the editing department, where he discovered his dedication to film editing. In 2012 he attended the study program, “Editing Picture And Sound“, at ifs international film school in Cologne, and graduated with a BA in 2016. Since 2016, he has worked as a freelance film editor and member of the German film editors association BFS.
