Els van Driel szabadúszó dokumentumfilmes. A gyermekjogokról szóló Just Kids díjnyertes dokumentumfilm-sorozat alkotója, és Eefje Blankevoorttal közösen alapította és rendezte 2017-ben a The Asylummachine és The Deal című multimédiás projekteket, amelyek az EU és Törökország közötti megállapodás következményeit elemzik. 2020-ban társrendezője volt a Shadow Game című transzmédiás dokumentumfilm-projektnek, amely számos díjat nyert.

Sajid Khan Nasiri, akit barátai csak SK néven ismernek, a belgiumi Antwerpenben tanul, és ez az első társrendezése. Alig tizenöt évesen hagyta el szülőhazáját, Afganisztánt. Több mint két évbe telt veszélyes útja Európába és azon keresztül. Ő volt az egyik főszereplője a Shadow Game című többszörös díjnyertes dokumentumfilmnek, és az egyik mozgatórugója az ahhoz társuló „Protect Children on the move” (Védjük meg a vándorló gyerekeket) kampánynak. Felszólalt az Európai Parlamentben, az Európa Tanácsban és a horvát parlamentben is, hogy felhívja a figyelmet a menekült gyermekek elleni jogsértésekre. Jelenleg hollandul tanul és TikTok újságíró szeretne lenni, hogy tudósítson az Európában és az afgán diaszpórában élő menekült tinédzserek életéről.

Falling

Gyimesi Anna 1985-ben született Budapesten. 2011-ben végezte el az orvosi egyetemet, majd a filmrendezés felé fordult. 2019-ben diplomázott a Színház- és Filmművészeti Egyetem filmrendező szakán, majd 2021-ben a Docnomads Erasmus Mundus közös mesterprogramján dokumentumfilm-rendezőként. Érdeklődési köre olyan tabusított társadalmi dilemmák, amelyeket személyes drámákon keresztül ragad meg, elsősorban a női lét, az anyaság és a társadalmi marginalizáció témakörében. Legutóbbi rövidfilmje, az Affrikáta – amelyet a Szarajevói Filmfesztivál rövidfilm-versenyében mutattak be először, és többek között játszották a 2022-es PÖFF Shortson, a Seattle-i Nemzetközi Filmfesztiválon és az OFF-Odensei Nemzetközi filmfesztiválon – egy mozgáskorlátozott tizenéves lányát egyedül nevelő anya története, aki szembesül saját elfojtott szükségleteivel. Jelenleg első egész estés filmjén, a Soft Hourson dolgozik a Midpoint Feature Launch 2023 keretében. A Falling a diplomafilmje volt a DocNomads mesterprogramban.

The Mind Game

Eefje Blankevoort studied history at the University of Amsterdam, and has since developed into a journalistic Swiss Army Knife. She writes articles and books, makes interactive projects, exhibitions and documentary films. She is the co-founder of the journalistic production agency, Prospektor. She co-directed The Mind Game.

Els van Driel is a freelance documentary filmmaker. She created the award-winning youth documentary series, Just Kids, about children’s rights, and was co-founder/director, together with Eefje Blankevoort, of the multimedia productions The Asylummachine and The Deal, an analysis of the consequences of the 2017 EU-Turkey deal. In 2020, she co-directed Shadow Game, a multi-award winning transmedia documentary project.

Sajid Khan (SK) Nasiri was born in Afghanistan, in 2004. He had just turned fifteen when he fled his homeland. His perilous journey to and through Europe took more than two years. He was one of the main characters in the multi-award winning documentary Shadow Game, and one of the driving forces behind the accompanying impact campaign, “Protect Children on the Move.” He has spoken in the European Parliament, at the Council of Europe, and in the Croatian Parliament to raise awareness of the violation of refugee children’s rights. He is currently studying in Belgium, and is working on becoming a TikTok journalist, reporting on the life of refugee teenagers in Europe and the Afghan diaspora. This is his co-directorial debut.

Falling

Anna Gyimesi was born in 1985, in Budapest. After receiving her degree in medicine in 2011, she turned to filmmaking. She graduated from the film directing program of the University of Theater and Film Arts, Budapest, in 2019, and from documentary film directing in the DocNomads Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Course in 2021. Her interests are taboo social dilemmas represented through personal dramas, especially connected to motherhood, womanhood, and social marginalization. Her latest short, Affricate focuses on a single mother raising her disabled teenage daughter while facing her own deeply-buried needs. The film premiered in the short film competition of the Sarajevo Film Festival and screened, among many others, at PÖFF Shorts 2022, Seattle International Film Festival, and OFF-Odense International Film Festival. Recently, she has been focusing on the development of her debut, Soft Hours, under the frame of Midpoint Feature Launch 2023. Falling is her graduation film for the DocNomads Joint Master Programme.

Fordulj a Nap felé

Aliona van der Horst 25 éves filmkészítői tevékenysége során számos díjat kapott filmjeiért. Legutóbbi alkotása, a Fordulj a Nap felé (2021), a történelemmel és az emlékezéssel foglalkozik egy apja múltját kereső lány történetén keresztül, és az archív felvételek művészi felhasználása miatt sok szakmai elismerést kapott. A Love is Potatoes (2017), egy első személyben elmesélt dokumentumfilm, amely a posztemlékezetről szól a kortárs Oroszországban. Turn Your Body to the Sun

In her 25 years of filmmaking Aliona van der Horst has received multiple awards for her films. Her most recent film Turn Your Body to the Sun (2021) deals with history and memory through the story of a daughter searching for her fathers’ past and is hailed for its artistic use of archival footage. Love is Potatoes (2017), is a first-person doc that deals with post-memory in contemporary Russia. Two other films, Water Children and After the Spring of ‘68 are first-person docs. Her films revolve around the question of how ordinary people's lives are shaped by big historical events. Retrospectives of her work were held in Barcelona, Kiev and Belgrade. She is a member of the Documentary branch of AMPAS and the European Film Academy. She is one of the founders of the collectively owned Dutch film production company DOCMAKERS.

Heddy Honigmann is considered one of world’s best documentary filmmakers. Her films (short & long fictions, short & long documentaries) have travelled around the world receiving major awards and important retrospectives (Toronto, the Museum of Modern Art in NY, Paris, Berlin, Lisboa, Minneapolis, Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia, Ontario, Utrecht, Grasz, Chicago and Berkeley, among others). She has received many lifetime achievement awards, like the Living Legend Award at IDFA (2013), the Dortmund Honorary Award for Documentary Film (2013), the Hot Docs Outstanding Achievement Award (2007), the San Francisco Films Society’s Golden Gate Persistence of Vision Award (2007), the J. Van Praag Award from the Humanist Association (2005) in the Netherlands, the award for her Contribution to the Art of Documentary Filmmaking at the Thessaloniki Film Festival (2004), and the Jan Cassies Award for her whole oeuvre from the Dutch National Fund for Cultural Films for Television (2003) in the Netherlands.

Lost in Memories

Ruud Lenssen is an independent documentary filmmaker. He studied at the Film Academy of Rotterdam (2007-2010) and at the LUCA School of Arts in Belgium (2013-2016). He merges socially relevant topics with a subjective style in his documentaries.
