Born in Syria, Saeed Al Batal is a citizen journalist, photographer and filmmaker. He has led numerous trainings in photography and news reporting, and has worked as a reporter on current affairs in Syria for agencies, radio stations and institutions worldwide. He is one of the founders of the online gallery, Sam Lenses, and the Humans of Syria project.

Born in Syria, Ghiath Ayoub is a filmmaker and visual artist. He graduated from the faculty of Fine Arts at the University Damascus in 2013. He co-founded a number of open spaces across Beirut. Ayoub also participates in various civil society initiatives, such as Humans of Syria, graphic design work and films that have been featured online and in exhibition spaces globally.

Tiny Souls

A Jordanian director and producer with Palestinian roots, Dina Naser graduated with a BA in Art and Graphic Design. In 2013, she received the DocNomads scholarship to pursue a Master's Degree in Documentary Filmmaking. Naser’s devotion for documenting is inspired by seemingly ordinary people and stories that spring from her homeland in Palestine.

What Walaa Wants

Christy Garland has directed award-winning and critically acclaimed documentary features and fiction shorts. Based in Toronto, she often co-produces with the Nordic countries. Distributed worldwide, Garland's films deliver strong dramatic development, poignant character transformation and universally felt themes.

Home After War

Gayatri Parameswaran is an award-winning, immersive journalist and creator from India. She is based in Berlin, where she co-founded NowHere Media. She likes to explore taboo topics such as war, domestic violence and abortion using virtual and augmented reality, and strives to use the VR medium to create realities for a desirable future.

Advocate

Rachel Leah Jones is a critically-acclaimed documentary filmmaker whose work focuses on Israel/Palestine. She has a BA in Race, Class and Gender Studies, and a MFA in Documentary Media Arts. In addition to making her own films, Jones has produced extensively with others, and has been affiliated with progressive media outlets such as DEMOCRACY NOW! in New York.

Born in France, Philippe Bellaiche is an award-winning cinematographer. A graduate of the École Nationale Supérieure Louis-Lumière and the Sorbonne, Bellaiche, a cinematography lecturer and master-class instructor, received the Israel Cinema Arts Award in 2013.

Munkáskupa

Adam Sobel katari író és filmrendező. 2013-ban készített egy dokumentumfilm sorozatot az első szaúdi nőről, aki megmászta a Mount Everestet. A sorozat megnyerte a 2014-es CINE Arany Sas-díjat. 2013 óta tanácsadóként dolgozik a filmalapnál a katari Northwestern University-n.

Watani, a hazám

Marcel Mettelsiefen rendező, operatőr, fényképész és producer. A szíriai polgárháborúról készült filmjei (Syria: Children on the Frontline (2014), Children on the Frontline: The Escape (2016) Watani: My Homeland (2016) ) számos elismerést hoztak számára. Két BAFTA és két Emmy-díjat nyert, illetve jelölték Oscar-díjra legjobb rövid dokumentum kategóriában a Watani: My Homeland című filmért.

Matthias Krepp összehasonlító irodalomtudományt és történelmet tanult, majd 2012-ben felvételt nyert Michael Haneke rendező-osztályába a Bécsi Filmakadémián. Tanulmányai során számos kisfilmet készített Angelika Spangellel és Magdalena Gruberrel.

Angelika Spangel 1987-ben született osztrák operatőrhallgató. 2012-ben végzett pedagógiatudomány szakon. 2013 óta Wolfgang Thaler operatőr-osztályába jár a Bécsi Filmakadémián. Számos kisfilmet készített Matthias Kreppel és Magdalena Gruberrel.

Holló

Shukri Muhammad Mahmood 1985-ben született Dahúkban. 2008-ban végzett a Szépművészeti Intézetben és 2014-ben a Dahúki Egyetem színházi tanszékén.
