Stunned, I Remain Alert
With the help of archival footage, Dermi Azavedo recalls working as a journalist in Brazil’s military dictatorship three decades ago. Under Bolsonaro, he is witnessing the return of the same practices that he once reported on and believed had been left behind forever.
Lucas H. Rossi dos Santos is a Brazilian director, scriptwriter, and producer working in Rio de Janeiro. His first short film, The Dress of Myriam (2017), won the Best Director award at the Rio de Janeiro International Short Film Festival and the Best Short Film award at the Los Angeles Brazilian Film Festival. His first feature, a documentary about the legendary Brazilian actor, Grande Othelo, will be released in 2020.
Henrique Amud is a screenwriter and image researcher based in Rio de Janeiro. He made his feature debut as a writer with the documentary Como Você Me Vê? (2017). He worked together with Lucas H. Rossi dos Santos on the documentary Othelo, O Grande as a writer and researcher. Stunned, I Remain Alert is his directorial film debut.
