A Dmitrijev-ügy

Jessica Gorter holland dokumentumfilmes. Az amszterdami Holland Film- és Televíziós Akadémián tanult rendezést és vágást. Tinédzserként az Egyesült Államokban élt, majd tanulmányai befejeztével hosszabb ideig Oroszországban dolgozott és utazott. Ebben a két különböző világban szerzett tapasztalatai, és a fotózás iránti szenvedélye fontos alapjául szolgálnak további munkáinak. Díjnyertes filmjeit világszerte vetítik filmfesztiválokon és egyetemeken, valamint nemzetközi moziforgalmazásban és televízióban is bemutatták már. Rendezett a holland televíziónak (Human, VPRO), és vágóként számos dokumentumfilmben közreműködött. A 900 Days (2011) című dokumentumfilmjét a 2011-es IDFA-n a legjobb holland filmnek járó díjjal tüntették ki.

Anyaföld

Alekszandr Mihalkovics belorusz-ukrán rendező és producer. Könyvtár szakos doktori végzettsége van, valamint mesterdiplomát szerzett filmrendezésből a DocNomads nemzetközi oktatóprogramban. Filmrendezőként olyan hosszú távú projektekre koncentrál, amelyek személyesen megérintik. Producerként jegyzett dokumentumfilmjei kísérletiek és kreatívok, gyönyörű fényképezés és tiszta rendezői koncepció jellemzi őket. Több rövid dokumentumfilmje és kísérleti filmje után első egész estés alkotása a My Granny from Mars volt. Ezt a filmet nagy sikerrel vetítették az ukrán mozikban, és számos nemzetközi filmfesztivál programjába beválogatták, mint például a DOK.fest München 2019, a Beldocs Belgrade 2019, a Sarajevo IFF DocuTalents Award 2018, a Jihlava IDFF 2018 és az Eastern Neighbours Film Festival 2019 (itt a fesztivál nyitófilmje volt).

Hanna Badziaka filmrendező, eredetileg újságíró. 2010-ben végzett a Belorusz Állami Egyetemen filológia mesterszakon. Videós újságíróként kezdte pályafutását a független online médiában, később az egyetlen független belorusz tévécsatornánál dolgozott. Újságíróként társadalmi kérdések és a mindennapi élet témái foglalkoztatták. Miután gyakorlatot szerzett videós mélyinterjúk készítésében, érdeklődni kezdett a dokumentumfilm-készítés iránt. Több dokumentumfilm készítésében is részt vett, illetve rendező és forgatókönyvíró volt olyan televíziós projektekben, amelyek rövid dokumentumfilmekre fókuszáltak. Az Anyaföld, amelyben társrendezőként dolgozott, első saját dokumentumfilmes alkotása.

Nem tűnünk el

A rendező Ukrajnában, Zaporizzsjában született 1987-ben. A kijevi Karpenko-Kary Egyetemen és a varsói Wajda Schoolban tanult dokumentumfilm-készítést. Első egész estés dokumentumfilmjét, Alisa in Warland címmel, az IDFA-n mutatták be 2015-ben; a Hazai pályán című filmje több mint 100 fesztivál programjában szerepelt és számos díjat nyert. Ő állítja össze a kijevi Molodist filmfesztivál nemzetközi dokumentumfilmes versenyprogramját. Amikor 2022. február 24-én Oroszország megtámadta Ukrajnát, Alisa elhagyta a Nem tűnünk el vágószobáját, és csatlakozott az ukrán hadsereg egy önkéntes alakulatához, amely közvetlenül a fronton harcolt Kijevben és Harkiv környékén. Négy hónapon át a lövészárokban harcolt, csak ezután tért vissza befejezni a Nem tűnünk el munkálatait. A Nem tűnünk el világpremierje a 2023-as Berlinale Generation fesztiválon volt. Mivel közben folytatódik az ukrajnai háború, Alisa a 2022-es IDFA Forumon egy újabb projektet mutatott be, amely a fronton töltött időszakban forgatott felvételein alapul és a Chicken & Egg Pictures és a Netflix támogatásával jött létre.

Love Is Not an Orange

Otilia Babara is a documentary filmmaker from Moldova, currently based in Brussels. She holds a degree in documentary filmmaking from the DocNomads European Master program (Belgium, Hungary, Portugal), and is a 2013 Berlinale Talents fellow. She directed and produced the short films Irene (2015), selected for several international film festivals, and Women on Canvas (2009), awarded at the Astra and Cronograf Film Festivals. She is drawn to those who usually go unnoticed. Her films expose big wounds hidden in small details. She's fascinated by the untold stories of women.

8th Day of the War

Oksana Moiseniuk was born in Ukraine, where she graduated as a journalist. She currently lives in the Czech Republic. In 2021, she shot a short documentary, Charón. Her debut feature-length documentary, 8th Day of the War premiered at Jihlava IDFF, in the Czech Joy competition, where it was the opening screening. The film had its international premiere at 38. DOK.fest München.

The Dmitriev Affair

Jessica Gorter is a Dutch documentary filmmaker. She studied directing and editing at the Dutch Film and Television Academy in Amsterdam. She lived in the United States as a teenager, and after completing her studies, worked and traveled in Russia for a longer period of time. Her experiences in both of these worlds, coupled with her passion for photography, form an important basis for her further works. Her award-winning films have been screened worldwide at film festivals and universities, and have been theatrically released and broadcast internationally. She has also directed for Dutch television (Human, VPRO) and worked as an editor for various documentaries. Her documentary, 900 Days (2011), was awarded best Dutch film at IDFA 2011.

Motherland

Alexander Mihalkovich is Belarusian-Ukrainian director and producer. He graduated with a PhD in library science, and holds an MA in film directing from DocNomads. He focuses on long-term projects with which he feels a close personal relationship. He produces experimental and creative documentaries with beautiful cinematography and a clear director’s vision. After creating several short documentary and experimental films, he made his debut feature film, My Granny from Mars. It had a successful theatrical release in Ukraine, and has been selected for numerous international film festivals (DOK.fest München 2019, Beldocs Belgrade 2019, Sarajevo IFF DocuTalents Award 2018, Jihlava IDFF 2018, Eastern Neighbours Film Festival 2019 – as the opening night film – among many others).

Hanna Badziaka is a filmmaker with a background in journalism. She graduated with a master’s degree in philology from the Belarusian State University in 2010. She began her career as a video journalist for independent online media, and later worked for the only independent TV channel in Belarus. As a journalist, she focused on social issues and topics related to everyday life. After gaining extensive experience in creating in-depth video reports, she became interested in documentary filmmaking. She then participated in creating several documentaries, and worked as a director and scriptwriter for TV projects focused on short documentaries. Motherland, which she co-directs, is her feature documentary debut.

We Will Not Fade Away

Born in Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine, in 1987, Alisa Kovalenko studied documentary filmmaking at the Karpenko-Kary University in Kyiv, and at the Wajda School in Warsaw, Poland. Her first feature-length documentary Alisa in Warland premiered at IDFA in 2015. Home Games screened at over 100 festivals and won numerous awards. She is the programmer for the international documentary competition of the Molodist film festival in Kyiv. After the launch of the Russian invasion of Ukraine on 24 February 2022, Alisa left the editing room of We Will Not Fade Away, and joined a volunteer unit of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU), where she fought on the frontline in the Kyiv and Kharkiv regions. She fought in the trenches for four months before returning to finish We Will Not Fade Away, which premiered at Berlinale Generation 2023. Meanwhile, as the war in Ukraine continued, Alisa presented a project supported by Chicken & Egg Pictures and Netflix, based on footage filmed during her time in combat, at the IDFA Forum 2022.
