Marianna Economou studied anthropology, photojournalism and film production in London. Since 2000, she has directed and produced documentary series and independent films, in co-production with European broadcasters such as the BBC, ARTE and YLE.

Mads Brügger is a Danish journalist, television host, author and filmmaker. He has written several books, worked for magazines and newspapers, produced award-winning radio programs, and hosted the critically-acclaimed, late-night television show, The 11th Hour, as well as the daily news program, Deadline.

Agnès Varda was born in Ixelles, Belgium in 1928. She studied at the École du Louvre and took evening classes in photography at the École de Vaugirard. She became a photographer for Jean Vilar when he founded the Avignon Theater Festival in 1948, then for the Théâtre National Populaire at the Palais de Chaillot in Paris. She held her first personal exhibition in 1954 in the courtyard of her home. That same year, Agnès Varda made the move to cinema without any formal training. She founded Ciné Tamaris (a cooperative) to produce and direct her first feature, La Pointe Courte. She directed short films and features, both fiction and documentaries. In 2003, she began her third career as a visual artist at the Venice Biennale.

Stéphane Riethauser, born in Switzerland, currently lives in Berlin and works as a filmmaker. He holds a law degree from the University of Geneva, and has worked as a teacher, gay rights activist, photographer, editor, journalist and translator. Between 2003 and 2008, he worked for Swiss Radio Television (RTS) as a journalist and director. He launched his production company, Lambda Prod, in 2007.
