Hye-Ryeong Park (1974, Seoul) has made more than 40 documentaries for South Korea’s major television broadcasters. In her work, she takes on an anthropological approach and focuses on people and traditions in the rapidly changing and modernizing world. She is an executive producer of television programs related to the world of food. She founded her production company, Hayanso Entertainment, in 2009.

Maija Blåfield is a filmmaker from Helsinki, Finland. Her works lay between documentary and experimental film. She received the main prize at the 57th Ann Arbor Film Festival in 2019, and the State Prize for Media Arts in Finland in 2014. She was nominated for the Ars Fennica award in 2017.

Seung-Jun Yi (born in 1971, in Busan, South Korea) is a documentary director and producer based in Seoul. He has worked on short and feature documentaries as a director and producer since 1999. His film Crossing Beyond was the Official Winter Olympics Film in South Korea in 2018.

Maria Arlamovsky works and lives with her family in Vienna. She studied metal sculpture in France, and film and intercultural competence in Austria.

Fredrik Gertten is an award-winning Swedish director and journalist. In 1994, Gertten founded the production company, WG Film. He had previously worked as a foreign correspondent and columnist for radio, TV and press in Africa, Latin America, Asia and Europe. Today he combines filmmaking with a role as creative producer at WG Film. In October 2017, Gertten was named Honorary Doctor at Malmö University’s Faculty of Culture and Society for his work as a documentary filmmaker.

Sang-woo Kang is a filmmaker whose work spans both fiction and non-fiction, and explores the political, social, and emotional worlds of minorities in Korean society.

Claude Lanzmann (1925–2018) was a French journalist, writer, and film director best known for Shoah (1985), a nine-and-a-half-hour documentary on the Holocaust. As a teenager he joined the French Resistance and fought against the Nazis. After WWII, he studied philosophy at the University of Tübingen, later taught at the Free University, and began writing for Le Monde on the persistence of Nazism. Lanzmann directed several films on the Holocaust and Israel, using firsthand interviews to construct his narratives. His distinctions include the Resistance Medal with rosette, Grand Officer of the Legion of Honour, and Grand Cross of the National Order of Merit. Lanzmann is one of the few French intellectuals and artists of international stature whose body of work left its mark on millions of viewers all over the world. His memoirs, The Patagonian Hare was published in 2009.

Hyewon Jee works has worked in the Korean television industry since 1995 as a commissioning editor for a nationwide broadcasting network. In 2008, she established a production company, Upright Media, with her partner, Wooyong Song. She has produced and directed many TV documentaries about culture, history, and human interest stories, and won numerous awards. Singing with Angry Bird is her first feature documentary.

Ugis Olte is a Latvian director and editor. He has created numerous original TV formats, music videos, ads, three short fiction films (The Red Spot, KK2678 and King Of The Wild Things), and the documentaries Stuck in Stikine (2007), Double Aliens (2015) and the co-directed Liberation Day (2016).
