Easy Lessons

Dorottya Zurbó graduated from Budapest’s ELTE, with a degree in Film Studies. In 2014 she completed the DocNomads, international documentary filmmaker MA program at the Hungarian Film Academy, where she is currently completing her PhD. Her short film, Distance (2017), was selected for the competition program of the Jihlava International Documentary Festival. Her documentary, The Next Generation (2017, co-director), premiered at the IDFA Competition for First Appearance.

Granny Project

Bálint Révész started working in the film industry as a child actor. After university he became an editor, writer, producer and director. In 2012 he graduated at the University of Brighton, and had already received awards in South Korea and Japan. His production company, the Gallivant Film, produces feature films, documentaries and develops international co-productions. His film Granny Project premiered internationally at DOK Leipzig and won the MDR award.

I Forgot to Bring Flower Again

Boglárka Bicsák graduated from the Eszterházy Károly University in 2018, and currently studies at the Film and Theatre Academy in Budapest. She is the director of Cold Twigs (2017) and I Remember Clearly (2018).

KARMAS/Bagázs

Flóra Chilton finished her studies as a cinematographer at the Budapest Metropolitan University. She was one of the cinematographers of the film, Its Not the Time of My Life (Ernelláék Farkaséknál), which won the Crystal Globe in Karlovy Vary. Chilton is currently working as an independent director.

Nine Month War

László Csuja graduated in screenwriting from the University of Theatre and Film Arts (Budapest). His short film, Phosphorus, was screened at festivals in Tampere, Cork and Edinburgh. His first feature, Blossom Valley, premiered and was awarded at the Karlovy Vary IFF. Nine Month War is his first feature-length documentary, premiered at the Sarajevo FF where it received Special Jury Prize.

Occupation 1968

Stephan Komandarev studied directing at the New Bulgarian University in Sofia. His films, The Balloon (1997), Dog’s Home (2000), Bread over the Fence (2002), Alphabet of Hope (2003), The Judgement (2014), and Directions (2017) were awarded by numerous prestigious festivals.

Marie Elisa Scheidt studied documentary film in Munich and Toronto. Her films Loly H (2013), Sobota (2014), and Our Wildest Dreams (2017) have been screened and awarded at numerous major film festivals around the world.

Linda Dombrovszky graduated as a film and television director in 2013. She has directed a music documentary, image films, non-commercial films, and a reality series. Her documentaries and short films attended and received awards at several festivals.

Magdalena Szymkow is a documentary filmmaker, screenwriter and film archives researcher with a journalistic background. Her film My House Without Me (2012), a cinematic essay about displacement, was nationally broadcasted, awarded and screened at festivals all over the world.

Evdokia Moskvina studied film production at the Sorbonne University in Paris. In 2011 she directed the film Our Dreams Come True, which was successfully presented at the Cannes festival. Currently, Evdokia is post-producing a documentary filmed in Syria in 2016, a story about civilians in the war.

Saját halál

Péter Forgács is a media artist and independent filmmaker based in Budapest. Since 1978 he has made more than thirty films and several media installations. He is best known for his "Private Hungary" series of award-winning films and installations, which are often based on home movies from the 1920s-1980s that document the ordinary lives soon to be ruptured by an extraordinary, historical trauma occurring off-screen.

A Polgár lányok

Yossi Aviram izraeli író és rendező, 1971-ben született Jeruzsálemben. Szülővárosában szerezte meg diplomáját, a Sam Spiegel Film & Television School-ban. Yossi Aviram kettéválasztja a karrierjét, megkülönbözteti azokat a munkákat, amelyekben, mint operatőr vett részt és a saját rendezéseit. 1998-ban, a Year of Israel in France lehetősége kapcsán részt vett egy kulturális csereprogramban a jól ismert francia filmiskolával, a La Fémis-el. Az itt töltött négy hét alatt megrendezte második rövidfilmjét, az Anna-t. Első filmes munkája, a The Dune a Haifa Filmfesztiválon megnyerte a Legjobb Elsőfilmes díjat illetve beválasztották a San Sebastian és a San Francisco-ban helyet kapó filmfesztiválokra is.

Schrott

Mészáros Balázs 1991-ben született Dunaújvárosban. Korábban videós újságíróként dolgozott, majd 2017-ben diplomázott a Színház- és Filmművészeti Egyetem dokumentumfilm-rendező mesterszakán Almási Tamás és Kékesi Attila osztályában.

Nem szegényeknek való vidék

Bihari László nonprofit szervezetek számára készít online kampányvideókat. Az elmúlt kilenc évben a ZPOK nevű kreatív alkotóműhelyben dolgozott, aminek az egyik alapítója. Ez a ZPOK első dokumentumfilmje.
