Dear Future Children

Franz Böhm is from Stuttgart, Germany. At 16, he made his first film as a director, Harmonie der Anderen. Franz' next project found him living with youth experiencing homelessness, the resulting documentary, Christmas Wishes, was selected as the opening film for the German Youth Film Awards. Following his work for the National Film & Television School and the documentary production company, 1185 Films, Franz is currently developing new projects in London. Dear Future Children is his debut feature film.

Kurázsi

Aliaksei Paluyan 1989-ben született Belaruszban. 2012-ben Németországba költözött, ahol a kasseli Művészeti Akadémián játék- és televíziófilm-rendezést tanult. 2019-es rövid fikciós drámája, Az öröm tava, német-belarusz-spanyol koprodukcióban készült, Clermont-Ferrand-ban mutatták be, számos nemzetközi fesztivál díjazottja volt, és 2020-ban a 33. Európai filmdíj Európai rövidfilm díjára, valamint a 2021-es Oscar-díjra is jelölték. Első egész estés dokumentumfilmje a Kurázsi.

Courage

Aliaksei Paluyan was born 1989 in Belarus. In 2012 he moved to Germany and studied film and television directing at the Kunsthochschule Kassel (Academy for the Arts). In 2019, his short fiction drama Lake of Happiness, a German-Belarusian-Spainish co-production, premiered in Clermont-Ferrand, won numerous awards at international festivals, was a candidate for European Short Film Award at the 33rd European Film Awards in 2020 and also longlisted for the Oscars 2021. Courage is his documentary film debut.

Salomé Jashi Tbilisziben, Grúziában született 1981-ben. Újságírást tanult, azután riporterként dolgozott éveken keresztül. 2005-től a British Council ösztöndíjával a Londoni Egyetem Royal Holloway intézetében tanult dokumentumfilm-készítést. A naplemente kápráztató fénye (The Dazzling Light of Sunset) című filmje fődíjat nyert a Visions du Réel fesztivál Regard Neuf versenyében, valamint a ZagrebDox, a Jih.lava IDFF, a Valdivia IDFF, és más fesztiválokon is sikerrel szerepelt. Egy korábbi munkája, a Bakhmaro (2011), fiatal dokumentumfilmes tehetségeknek járó különdíjat kapott a DOK.Leipzigen, és a legjobb közép- és kelet-európai dokumentumfilmnek járó díjat a Jih.lava dokumentumfilm fesztiválon. Salomé két filmgyártó cégnek is alapítója, a Sakdoc Filmnek, illetve a Microcosmos-nak; mindkettő művészi igényű dokumentumfilmeket és játékfilmeket készít. 2017-ben Nipkow ösztöndíjat, 2020-ban DAAD-ösztöndíjat kapott. A naplemente kápráztató fénye című filmjét 2019-ben vetítette a Verzió.

Taming the Garden

Salomé Jashi was born in Tbilisi, Georgia in 1981. She first studied journalism and worked as a reporter for several years. In 2005 she was awarded a British Council scholarship to study documentary filmmaking at Royal Holloway, University of London. Salomé’s The Dazzling Light of Sunset (2016) was awarded the Main Prize at Visions du Réel’s Regard Neuf Competition as well as at ZagrebDox, Jihlava IDFF, Valdivia IDFF, and several other festivals. Her earlier work, Bakhmaro (2011) received an Honorary Mention for a Young Documentary Talent at DOK Leipzig, and was awarded as the Best Central and Eastern European Documentary at Jihlava IDFF. Salomé is the founder of two production companies: Sakdoc Film and Microcosmos, both producing documentaries and fiction of high artistic quality. She was a fellow of Nipkow Scholarship in 2017 and of the DAAD Artists-in-Berlin Program in 2020. The Dazzling Light of Sunset screened at Verzió in 2019.

Boy Queen

Sai Nyi Min Htut Mianmar északi san államában található Kyaukme-ből származik. Boy Queen

Sai Nyi Min Htut is from Kyaukme, in Myanmar's Northern Shan State. After getting a degree in English from Lashio University, he spent several years working as an activist and writing about LGBTQI and other human rights issues before joining the Yangon Film School in 2020. Boy Queen, which he co-edited with fellow YFS student Nang Cho Lae Yee Thein, marks his directorial debut.

This Rain Will Never Stop

Alina Gorlova is a director and film editor. Born and raised in Ukraine, she graduated from Karpenko-Kary Kyiv National University of Theatre, Film & Television. In addition to her focus as a documentary director, Alina is experienced in making fictional shorts, and social and commercial ads.

Yana Ugrekhelidze 1984-ben született a grúziai Tbilisziben, ahol fordító és nyelvész szakon szerzett diplomát. Ezt követően kommunikációs tervezés BA szakra ment a düsseldorfi Peter Behrens Művészeti Iskolára, és a kölni Médiaművészeti Akadémia film és animáció szakán szerzett diplomát. Első animációs filmjét, a Nyári történet-et, 2017-ben mutatták be az oberhauseni Nemzetközi Rövidfilm Fesztiválon, és válogatták be a Diák Oscar elődöntőjébe. Instructions for Survival

Yana Ugrekhelidze was born in Tbilisi, Georgia, in 1984. After graduating with a degree in translation and linguistics in Georgia, she completed a BA in communication design at the Peter Behrens School of Arts in Düsseldorf, and a diploma in film and animation at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne. Her first animated film, Summer Story, premiered at the 2017 International Short Film Festival Oberhausen and was a semi-finalist in the Student Academy Awards. Her graduation film Armed Lullaby premiered at the 69th Berlinale in the Generation Section. Instructions for Survival is Yana's debut film.
