Who should apply?
Documentary filmmakers, creative professionals working on their first or second feature project from the following countries: Albania, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Czech Republic, Croatia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Macedonia, Kosovo, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey and Ukraine.
Min. 2, max. 3 participants per project, ideally directors, producers and editors. (Directors can also be the editors of their projects during the workshop.)
There is no application fee.
Participation Fee
The participation fee is 200€/person. The fee covers mentoring, accommodation costs and lunches during the workshop. The travel is covered up to 200€/person.
As part of Verzió DocLab’s commitment to supporting Hungarian stories and filmmakers, the participation fee for Hungarian projects is 50€/person. The participation fee covers mentoring and lunches during the workshop. (Disclaimer: Discount fee applies only to participants based in Budapest or those who can arrange private accommodation in the city.)
(In solidarity with filmmakers from Ukraine we offer a fee waiver to Ukrainian projects and support them with travel, accommodation and lunches during the workshop.)

In order to apply, please submit:
- a link to the selected 1 or 2 scenes you aim to work with during the workshop with English subtitles (max. 20 mins)
- three high-resolution stills from your film
- logline (max. 250 characters including spaces)
- synopsis (max. 600 characters including spaces)
- treatment (max. 20000 characters including spaces)
- BIO of the applicants (max. 600 characters including spaces) contact details
- high-resolution portrait photos of the applicants
- link to previous film(s) (if applicable)
- short introduction of the partners, producers, company and their contacts (if applicable)
- a financing plan
