International Competition
The films in the 23rd Verzió International Competition explore global issues such as war, migration, colonial legacies, trauma, identity, and family ties through personal stories from around the world. From communities in the Amazon to villages in Namibia, from families torn apart by the war in Gaza to rural communities in the United States, the films reveal diverse worlds and experiences while exploring how history, community, and changing social environments shape our lives. What unites them is their human-scale, personal approach to big questions, as they search for ways to find our place, our voice, and one another in a constantly changing world.
